Amy told me today that she liked my smile, and it made me think about smiles in general
I love watching Amy smile and listening to her laugh
In fact, on our first date I did everything I could to make her laugh, and I was elated every time her eyes lit up because she was happy
Her joy was genuine, and we had a lot of funny moments together as we shared things about our lives, including such typical first date “best foot forward topics” like:

Right from the start our conversations were very in-depth, and we felt comfortable sharing pretty much anything, which is great because both love to express ourselves, and nothing is off-topic
Despite some heavy subject matter, the mood on our first date was light and relaxed, which was funny since we were sharing things that would have probably caused most people to raise an eyebrow before they escaped through the restaurant’s bathroom window
I thought Amy was amazing then, and as we have gotten to know each other more intimately, Amy’s beauty has only grown more astonishing
Through our chastity vow, which at first was not easy, we have learned so much about each other, and have gotten to be best friends, rather than focus on exploring the “feel good now” approach that we originally started down. Without our time of chastity, we wouldn’t have discovered how insecure we both were when we met each other, but this time has been a blessing beyond belief as we have grown stronger and more deeply in love than we ever thought possible
All my life I have prepared and waited for this dream relationship, which has finally come true because God set us apart for each other, and because we were both able to be in a place of emotional, intellectual, and spiritual maturity
Right now, we are in the middle of planning our wedding in mid-June, which is totally surreal because I am still in Vietnam for the next few weeks. Amy is ring shopping without me which feels weird, but it is what it is given the circumstances!
Out of all the things in the world, the strength and support of a God-centered, emotionally healthy relationship is amazing, nothing in life prepared me for this
No amount of late nights playing video games, working like a crazy person, etc… could ever replace the joy of looking into the eyes of the person we love more than anything, we just have to focus on becoming the best we can be, and patiently wait, not letting any distractions or detours get in the way
God has given me a woman of noble character, and not only is her smile gorgeous, she loves God!
He is awesome!
Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised
[…] we were officially enfianced to announce this… But given that Nathan mentioned this in his daily blog post today and he also refers to me as his soon-to-be fiancee, I guess it isn’t much of a secret […]
