Eccelsiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end

Ecclesiastes is such an awesome book in the bible. Just one guy giving a bunch of aphorisms about why everything is utterly vain. Such pessimism coupled with logical alternatives to vanity is something I really appreciate.
Hi Edison,
The book of Ecclesiastes is awesome, it is one of my favorite books in the Bible because of its sheer honesty, and willingness to explore difficult philosophical concepts around morality and spirituality, ie: God’s character
One thing about Ecclesiastes that is very interesting, is that the author wrote based on the idea that neither the good or bad were rewarded/punished for their behavior–they all got the same “reward”, ie: death and nothingness
Jesus taught that mankind was rewarded according to what they had done in life, so his teaching on this topic was revolutionary compared to what people had thought up until that point
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done
Ecclesiastes 9:5
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten
Ecclesiastes 12:13
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man
